Translation refers to the process of converting the main text in a given language into the target text producing a new text in a different language. The text to be translated is called source text, and its language is called source language.
The texts to be translated into another language may be novels, stories, poems, theatre, or cinema works of artistic value, as well as academic articles, biographies, critiques, or papers and documents for business purposes. The translation of a written text into another language is different from the translation of ideas expressed orally into another language.
In this respect, it is necessary to state that interviews, prose passages, or verse types such as epics and laments are also translated. When the translation is oral, though the main source is not written, the target is mostly transferred to the text. Although Turkish – English is the most requested translation in Turkey, developing international cooperation and trade enable this demand to evolve widely into different languages.
The use of written translation is quite wide. It is indispensable especially for companies with foreign connections. The agreements and contracts, promotional brochures, advertising texts, brand information, congress declarations, dispatch authorization documents, patents, invoices and balance sheets, income-expense statements, the contents with construction, pharmaceutical, and medical concept and many more documents that are used in business life may require translation/interpretation.
Interpretation is divided into several types, mainly conference, debate, and lecture, and their translation process involves different methods such as simultaneous translation and consecutive translation. Consecutive and simultaneous interpretation prices are different from text translation prices.
The translation process is carried out professionally by people who are specialized in business and used widely in translation offices. At this point, you need to decide which translation office you should work with. It is essential that the translations are made by the people who have mastered both the source text and the target text.
In translation from one language to another, it is very important to speak the language as well as to have the ability to convey meaning correctly. The explicitness of the target text prevents adverse situations such as misunderstanding or ulterior meanings.
